The Vancouver Chinatown Lioness Club presents its FEB-ulous Lunch Getaway, an afternoon of entertainment with a delicious buffet lunch to raise funds for the Canadian Liver Foundation in support of pediatric liver disease.
The Canadian Liver Foundation works with many renowned doctors and scientists to provide a brighter future for children with liver disease. Our work is inspired by our young patients who bravely face the daily challenges that liver disease imposes.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Vancouver Chinatown Lioness Club for championing such an important cause. Please lend your support to make Feb-ulous Lunch Getaway a great success. Collectively we can make a huge positive impact on the lives of our young liver patients, their family and caregivers!
The 2014 annual LIVERight Gala in Vancouver, BC, celebrated its most successful year yet by achieving a fundraising record of $283,000 – almost double our previous year’s total. Thanks to the generous contributions of our sponsors , donors and venue host Pan Pacific and the hard work of the BC Chapter Board, staff and volunteers, more than 400 guests enjoyed an unforgettable night of touching speeches, delicious meals and entertainment by ABRA Cadabra, the “ABBA” tribute band.
Upon arrival, guests were welcomed with a special non-alcoholic welcome drink, the “LIVERTonic”, and had the opportunity to tour a display of over 80 silent auction items which included specially designed ‘liver bracelets’ by Shelby Miller . Throughout the night, they also had the opportunity to purchase balloons for a chance to win 15 fabulous prizes including a trip to Hong Kong. The night’s special guests – Scotiabank (Presenting Sponsor), Dr. Stephen Ho (interventional radiologist) and Shelby Miller (two-time liver transplant recipient) -- were honoured as part of a program that also included a live auction, silent auction, live music and dancing.
The CLF was thrilled to have this opportunity to showcase its long standing partnerships with a variety of sponsors and to recognize health researchers, medical specialists, patients and volunteers for their many contributions to the CLF.
Thank you for your support and we hope to see you again next year!
