The population of Eastern Ontario, 1.71 million, saw a healthy growth between 2001 and 2006. Ottawa, with a population of over 800,000, is the country's fourth largest city and the second largest municipality in the province. Ottawa is also the only city in Canada with two co-official languages, English and French.
The fundraising events in the region include Stroll for Liver and What a Girl Wants. One of the contributing factors to the strength of these events is predominately due to the active committee members that take the lead, many of whom have been involved in the CLF from the beginning.
