Join us in Calgary for Stroll for Liver!

Saturday, June 15, 2019

Help us change the future for Canadians with liver disease! Join us at Rosemont Community Hall, Calgary for the 2019 Stroll for Liver! Enjoy a day full of activities for the entire family, as well as snacks and refreshments. There will also be prizes for the top fundraisers.

Our new Stroll location will take participants past our offices and through our neighbourhood of supportive businesses, truly connecting everyone who is joining in the fight against liver disease.

1 in 4 Canadians may be affected by liver disease. Taya is one of them.

Taya. Bliary atresia patient

Taya was diagnosed as a newborn with biliary atresia. At just 11 weeks-old, Taya underwent a five-hour procedure required to prevent further damage and save her liver. The surgery was a success, but one thing was certain; Taya would need a liver transplant in her future.

Despite some ups and downs with liver infections, Taya seemed to endure the first decade of her life quite well. However, due to her aggressive liver disease, Taya was put on the liver transplant list in August of 2017. Taya successfully received a portion of her mom’s liver on December 12th, 2017.

Taya has gone from being a baby with liver disease, to a young recipient of a liver transplant. Through it all, she has been an inspiration. She has remained strong and positive, with hopes and dreams for a bigger, brighter future. Her ultimate goal: living in a world where no child will suffer each day with liver disease.

We invite you to join Taya and her family in their efforts to change the future by signing up or pledging for a Stroll for Liver
