FUN and FUNdraising

As supporters of the Canadian Liver Foundation, you already know that, each year, we run two national events to raise funds for liver research and education, show appreciation to our community, and increase awareness of liver health and liver disease. Thanks to your support, our STROLL for LIVER events and our LIVERight galas were a tremendous success in 2019.

There were 14 STROLLs held across the country last year: two in the Maritime provinces, one in Quebec, five in Ontario, two in Manitoba, three in Alberta and one in BC. Worthy of special note was the first-ever STROLL for LIVER event in Atikokan, Ontario. (Read that story here.) We were so happy to have this new location added to the roster! Combined, these 14 fantastic events raised more than $170,000!

Nearer to the end of the year, our LIVERight Galas took place in various locations across Canada. Beginning on November 2nd in Ottawa and closing up on November 29th in Halifax, these galas brought together an eclectic mix of people who supported the CLF during the year for good food and good times. The CLF was especially proud to present 50th Anniversary Recognition Medals to a number of key individuals at these galas. Designed as an exclusive award, these medals were presented to dedicated and hardworking volunteers, kind-hearted donors, forward-thinking researchers and doctors, committed committee members to name a few.

We are thrilled to say that our national events raised more than $1.2 million for liver research and education in 2019, and we are so very excited to see what 2020 may bring! Check our website, and save the dates for the events near you.
